Got Amazon Prime? Well, you’ll probably want to take advantage of Prime Day (well, day and a half) for deals on an expanding array of products, including groceries, on Monday, July 16 that starts at 3 p.m. ET and end Wednesday, July 18, 3 a.m. ET.
This exclusive event for Prime member and new subscribers (use credit card for a 30-day free trial) has special advanced access through the Amazon app (iOS and Android).
Prime memberships are $119 for the year (up from $99) or subscribers can pay using the month-to-month payment option ($12.99 a month).
Turn on notifications in the app by tapping the top left menu icon to open the app menu, then tap Settings, then Notifications, and enable Personalized Notifications. On July 9 (PT), search “Sneak Peek” in the app to get early access.
Do some good while you shop for various charities through the Amazon Smile Program (follow the steps from Amazon’s website below):
- Sign in to amazon.com on your desktop or mobile phone browser.
- From your desktop, go to Your Account from the navigation at the top of any page, and then select the option to Change your Charity. Or, from your mobile browser, select Change your Charity from the options at the bottom of the page.
- Select a new charitable organization to support.
If you’re going to be mobile, then download the Amazon shopping app, which also sends you notifications (set-up in options).
Spotlight deals are highlight deals of the day while lightning deals are only available for a few hours.

Amazon’s Echo Show smart device will be marked down to $129.99. It features a 7-inch touchscreen display that can also be used for video calls with other Echo Show users.
Amazon Echo and Dot users can ask about Prime information. These smart devices can also send additional notifications. Just ask Alexa for details on deals for more information. You can also enter the current Alexa Home-Smart-Home Sweepstakes until July 15 (details here).
Shopper will be able to find more than a million deals on Amazon plus related deals like the special at Whole Foods stores where Amazon Prime members who spend $10 or more in store getting a $10 credit on Amazon. Earn the credit now through the 17th by scanning a Prime code on the Whole Foods app at checkout.
