Theories on the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Ending (spoilers)

OK, before we begin, I am not an extensive reader of the comic books. This opinion on theories on what’s next for our heroes after the ending of Avengers: Infinity War is based on the MCU films.

Avengers: Infinity War exhilarates, surprises, and even shocks, but never bores.

As our heroes battled Thanos, a seemingly unbeatable villain who deeply feels his cause and resulting actions are justified as he seeks to fill his Infinity Gauntlet with the corresponding Infinity Stones, Dr. Strange went ahead in time to check all possible outcomes while on Thanos’ home planet of Titan.

He knows and shared the generalities, but did the Avengers get all the details he knew? The audience certainly didn’t. There was no way to rehearse the entire scenario before Thanos’ arrival.

I feel Dr. Strange saw an opportunity when he asked Thanos to spare Iron Man’s life. This moment is probably the key here, but I’m not exactly sure what yet.

Thanos’ use of the green time stone on Earth to get the large yellow mind stone could play a big part too. Maybe someone else got the chance to change something, but it’s probably just a local event.

Also, how did Nebula almost beat Thanos? Thanos mentions how Nebula almost killed him to Gamora, but we never see the details. Nebula knows him best, so there might be a big reveal there.

What do you think? Did the “dream sequences” offer any clues, especially the last one with the young Gamora?

The 156-minute superhero epic Avengers: Infinity War is the twentieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which is now in its 10th year after 2008’s Iron Man.  It’s now available on home video.
